Rebuilt Shoulder
by Eric
I had my right shoulder rebuilt due to a rotator cuff tear about 4 months ago.
I am finished with my physical therapy and wondering if Pilates exercises can help to strengthen the muscles of the shoulder that have weakened due to disuse?
Jennifer's response:
Pilates based exercises can definitely help to stabilize the scapula or shoulder blades and to strengthen the muscles of the rotator cuff.
It would be most helpful for you to find a certified Pilates equipment instructor near you so you can utilize the spring loaded equipment under a watchful eye to be sure you are doing it correctly.
If you would rather practice some exercises at home the shoulder ebook available here is a great place to start at a very reasonable price too!
The ebook outlines how to stretch, stabilize, and strengthen the muscles of the shoulder with dumbells and a stretch band.
